Imagine a dreamy snowy landscape: the clear sky, the majestic peaks of the Dolomites in the background, and an atmosphere that invites discovery. Whether you love to ski, toboggan, hike in the snow or simply relax with a coffee at a mountain lodge, the Plose is a perfect destination for a winter vacation in South Tyrol and still little known.
Between outdoor activities, snow adventures, and moments of pure relaxation, this destination has everything to win over young and old alike.
And just a short distance away awaits you Brixen, one of the most charming towns in the Dolomites: ancient, elegant and full of charm.

Skiing on Plose, the ski resort of Brixen

The Plose, also known as the Bressanone ski resort, is located just 7 km from the town and is the ideal destination for those who want to experience winter on skis, surrounded by breathtaking scenery.

Perfect for children on their first skis, but also for those looking for relaxation and tranquility, the Plose offers a unique experience: thanks to its strategic location, the area is sunny for most of the day and never too crowded, even during peak season.
With more than 40 km of slopes and a spectacular 360° panoramic view of the Dolomites, adults and children alike find their own piece of paradise here. Children can learn to ski while having fun thanks to a highly qualified ski school with courses suitable for all levels.

For families and beginners, the Randötsch ski lift, with its two dedicated slopes, is perfect for a calm and safe approach to the snow. And when it comes time for a break, the lodges and cabins, with their spacious sun terraces, welcome everyone with warmth and delicious food.

For the more experienced, however, fun is guaranteed with the area's most technical slopes: the Trametsch, the longest valley run in South Tyrol, and the adrenaline-pumping Crazy Horse and Palmschoss.
In particular, the Trametsch, at nine kilometers long and 1,400 meters of elevation gain, is one of the most spectacular descents in the region. The start at the Plose Hut, at 2,446 meters above sea level, provides breathtaking views, with the majesty of the Odle Mountains providing the backdrop at the top of the run. The wide blue runway of the Plose then gradually joins the more technical black runway of the Trametsch, offering a unique combination of relaxing sections and challenging sections. An exciting experience that will win over any experienced skier.

📌The Plose is part of one of the world's most beautiful ski carousels: the Dolomiti Superski. With 12 ski areas and 1,200 km of slopes with guaranteed snow, it offers a unique experience for all winter sports enthusiasts.
Thanks to the Rio Pusteria-Bressanone ski pass, you'll have access not only to the Plose, but also to four other ski areas in the surrounding area: Rio Pusteria, Luson, Velturno and Funes.

Toboggan runs

Gliding through the snow, feeling the wind on your face and having the time of your life: on the Plose, sledding becomes an unforgettable experience for the whole family. Imagine launching yourself through breathtaking snowy landscapes, with children laughing and the panorama of the Dolomites accompanying you.
Here, every descent is a plunge into genuine joy, a way to share carefree moments and experience winter in its most genuine form.

The RudiRun, one of the longest and most spectacular natural runs in South Tyrol, is perfect for those who love sledding.
Children and beginners can have fun on the RudiRun 4.0, an easy 4-kilometer run that conveniently ends at the middle station of the Plose gondola, ready to take you back to the starting point for another run.
For the more adventurous, however, there's the RudiRun 9.0, a 9 km long natural trail that runs all the way down to the valley station, providing unique thrills and a descent surrounded by nature.

⚠️Important: Make sure you have a stable and safe sled, as bobsleds are not allowed on the slopes.
At the ski rental you can pick up a toboggan, even with a backrest for younger children.

Plosebob

Imagine the feeling of going downhill on a bobsled , whizzing through the curves of the slope while the wind caresses your face: the Plosebob is the perfect adventure for the whole family.
The descent lasts about 6 minutes and covers 147 meters of elevation gain. You can choose the faster, truly adrenaline-pumping ride or the slightly slower, but still thrilling ride.

The route starts and ends at the Infoshop at the top station of the Plose gondola.
Children from 4 years to 9 years can ride the Plosebob only if accompanied by an adult, while from 10 years and with a minimum height of 130 cm, they can make the descent alone.
The Plosebob is available daily, with hours from 10:00 to 13:00 and from 14:00 to 16:00. No prior experience is necessary, but it is recommended to wear appropriate winter clothing, such as comfortable shoes, gloves and goggles. Ski boots are not allowed.

Snow hikes for the whole family

With boots or snowshoes, Plose offers snowy trails that turn every walk into a magical journey.

An easy, family-friendly hike leads to one of South Tyrol's most impressive huts: the Rossalm. The slightly uphill and easily hikable route, even for children, follows well-prepared winter trails, offering spectacular views of the Dolomite arc.
The walk takes about an hour and is a pleasant experience for both those who enjoy walking in nature and those seeking a restorative break. On the way back, the descent from the Rossalm can be tackled on foot or, for a bit more fun, by toboggan.

For those who enjoy snowshoeing, local guides organize family-friendly hikes, a perfect idea for discovering winter nature together.

The refuges

After a morning of snow activities, the huts on the Plose and in Brixen are the perfect place for a rejuvenating lunch break. Here you can enjoy the authentic flavors of South Tyrol: dumplings, speck and strudel are just a few of the specialties waiting for you.
For the little ones, there is no shortage of simple, mouthwatering dishes dedicated just to them.

Most of the huts can be easily reached during the day: some on foot along well-prepared trails, others directly by ski or sled. Because of their proximity to the ski lifts, they are a convenient choice for those who want to have lunch without straying too far from the slopes.
The huts on the Plose are generally open when the lifts are in winter operation, ensuring that a stop is always at hand, whether for a short break or a relaxed lunch.
